Cookie Policy
Short version: Cymothoe sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from third parties. A few small preferences are kept in your own browser so the Site remembers what you chose, and that is all.
On this page
1. Cookies
The Site does not set any cookies, first-party or third-party. There are no advertising, analytics, tracking or social-media cookies.
2. What we store in your browser
Some pages use your browser's local storage, a similar technology to cookies, to remember choices you make. These values stay on your device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else, and they are not used to identify or track you.
| Name | Page | Purpose | Kept until |
|---|---|---|---|
news-closed-cats | News | Remembers which News sections you collapsed | You clear site data |
business-closed-cats | Business | Remembers which Business sections you collapsed | You clear site data |
daily-answer | Daily Challenge | Remembers your answer to today’s question so you can’t answer twice; replaced the next day | You clear site data |
3. Third parties
Fonts, scripts and images are served from the Site itself, so loading a page doesn't contact any third-party service. Links to news sources and directory entries only take you to those sites when you click them, and from then on their own cookie policies apply. The Site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps ordinary server logs as described in our Privacy Policy; Vercel sets no cookies on the Site.
4. Why there is no cookie banner
Consent banners are required for storage that isn't strictly necessary for something you asked for, such as analytics or advertising. The Site uses neither. The items above only remember interface choices you made yourself, so we explain them on this page instead of asking you to accept them. If we ever add anything that needs your consent, we will ask before setting it.
5. How to clear or block it
You can delete everything the Site has stored by clearing site data for this website in your browser settings (often under Privacy or Site settings). Using a private or incognito window also discards it when you close the window. Blocking local storage won't break the Site: it simply won't remember your collapsed sections or today's answer.
6. Changes to this policy
We'll update this page whenever the Site's use of cookies or browser storage changes, before the change takes effect.
